Christmas Tree Hunting

Today was the day to cut a tree. But first we had to be sure Gabby had all the cold weather gear to be out in the elements. Thankfully there were a few cold weather hand me downs packed away in the closet. I remember when we received them long ago I looked at them with dismay... would Gabby really be so big some day? She is. And the excitement on her face when I pulled the winter boots from her closet was priceless. She demanded I put them on her immediately - with her jammies. After convincing her she couldn't go out for breakfast in her jammies & boots, we finally got her fully dressed and strapped into the carseat. It took about 5 minutes for the marshmellow to start yelling & complaining from the backseat. She was not happy being so bundled up & restrained. After breakfast we headed for the tree farm with Nana & Grandpa to hunt for our trees. Gabby loved walking in the snow, but didn't like falling down into the snow. It was cold and we didn't waste too much before finding the perfect tree. The perfect tree is now outside, leaning against the front porch. We need to clear out the toys that have taken over our living room & dining room before the tree can come into the house. Hopefully it will be a productive afternoon... but we'll see. Gabby just went down for a nap, Jason just settled onto the couch with a snack, bicycling magazine and turned on the football game. And I'm itching to make a trip to Target and finish up the Christmas shopping.
